Meet Our Caregivers
Our caregivers are independent contractors, many of whom have been with us for more than a decade.
Dawna M. Wright
Dawna M. Wright has made a life’s career of caregiving, from nursing to recreational therapy her experience covers forty years, twenty of them with Caregiver Connection. She especially enjoys the company of seniors, people who have worked hard and lived long interesting lives. She likes that Caregiver Connection sets high standards and sticks to them. Her wealth of experience gives her confidence to meet the challenges of any situation.
Carletta Lucas came to Caregiver Connection one year ago. Working to make a positive impact on the lives of both her clients and their families gives her a sense of accomplishment. When it’s decision-making time, she takes the time to think through what choice will be in her client’s best interest. Carletta finds joy in bringing joy to others.
Richard "Mack" McCoy
Richard “Mack” McCoy, a caregiver of thirty years (two with Caregiver Connection), calls himself a “people person” who especially enjoys the aspect of this work that brings him into contact with many new and different people. With experience in VA hospitals and with cerebral palsy patients, Mack has a real commitment to improving the quality of life – physical, mental and spiritual – for patients with serious conditions.
Shawntee Jackson has been a caregiver for six years, the last three with Caregiver Connection. She takes special pride in being cheerful and in brightening her clients’ day. Being focused on just one person enables Shawntee to give all her attention and 100% of her effort to her client’s needs.
William Stewart has been caregiving for thirteen years, the last three with Caregiver Connection. He finds meeting new people interesting, with different cultures and values, and says his sense of humor helps him keep his clients smiling. He values the dedication of the Caregiver Connection staff, and feels he is part of a family. In turn he offers that respect and dedication to his clients and their families.
Doris Knaus has worked with Caregiver Connection just a little over a year, but her caregiving experience goes back twenty-two years. She finds that listening is one of the best skills a caregiver can have, and she likes walking out the door, her client comfortable and happy, and having the feeling of a “job well done.” She thinks the staff at Caregiver Connection does an especially good job matching caregivers with clients and their individual needs.
