What We Offer

We take the worry out of hiring a trusted, responsible and compassionate caregiver. You are in charge: you choose the caregiver you want and you negotiate their salary directly. At what is often a stressful time, Caregiver Connection has the professional staff and experience to help you find solutions and make decisions. Aging parents, adults recuperating from surgery or illness, people living with disabilities – whether you need help for a few hours or full time – we serve adults with any number of different needs.

The Right Connection

Our staff will help you choose the caregiver with the training and experience that best suits your needs. YOU make the final decision.

We are licensed by the PA Department of Health and follow their standards. Our caregivers are fully screened with background and reference checks. We respect confidentiality; please read our privacy policy.

We offer 24/7 back-up. And we’ll assist you with your caregiver needs and questions; you can call us any time.

We choose only caregivers who are experienced, have received relevant training and who take punctuality, appearance and work ethic very seriously. By signed agreement, they adhere to the highest standards of conduct on the job and off. Some of our caregivers have been with us for more than a decade!

We are affiliated with Jewish Family and Community Service of Pittsburgh, a local trusted human service agency with the highest dedication to serving our community for 80 years.

Caregiver salaries are directly negotiated with you, and they keep 100% of their wages. Our administrative fees are separate and very modest.

Through Caregiver Connection’s affiliation with JFCS, additional services are available: care management and needs assessments by licensed social workers, counseling, and transportation or friendly home visits through AgeWell Pittsburgh.

Is it time for a Professional Caregiver?

If you are a primary caregiver and…

  • you have a job, are raising a family, and trying to be everything to everyone
  • you are overcome with a stressful or unrealistic commitment of time and/or care level
  • you are feeling overwhelmed.

Or your loved one…

  • doesn’t have a family or friend support support system that can lend a hand
  • has had surgery or an illness and needs special are to recuperate
  • needs assistance with personal hygiene
  • might otherwise have to move into some level of assisted living
  • isn’t safe driving, cooking, running errands or carrying laundry
  • cannot be left home alone for long periods of time.

A person of any age recuperating from an illness or surgery, a family caregiver who would like occasional respite, a person managing the challenges of special needs, someone who needs some help in order to continue living independently, or a family member who lives too far away or is worried about their loved one managing on their own.

Meal preparation (including special diets), grocery shopping and errand running (Caregivers can go on their own or escort you), escort to medical appointments, light housework, laundry, personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.), monitor medication-taking, companionship, and more.

This depends completely on your needs: any number of days or hours each day, overnight. Minimum visit is four (4) hours.

This depends on their individual qualifications, the level of care needed, and the hours, but ranges from $16 to $20 per hour.

The Caregiver Connection screens and trains all caregivers. Each caregiver must be cleared by a doctor, have written letters of reference and have a yearly criminal background/child abuse check, competency test and 2-step Tuberculosis test.
You can speak directly with the caregiver’s references.
